3 Tips for helping you sleep at night

Just can’t get to sleep night? Then we end up tired throughout the day. We all been there and a lot of us struggle sleeping or can’t get to sleep at all. Not only can we not reach our full potential during the day but it is the cause of a lot of diseases and other problems, here are 3 that will help!

Have you heard of the new sleeping life hack?

No it might not work for everyone but is defiantly worth a try, get to sleep in just 60 seconds! Sounds crazy right but Dr Andrew Weil, a sleep expert has devolved this method and its called the 4-7-8.

Here's how it goes:

  1. Exhale as much as you can.
  2. With your mouth closed, slowly inhale from your nose for 4 seconds.
  3. Hold your breath for 7 seconds.
  4. Exhale again through your mouth for 8 seconds.
  5. Repeat, do this 4 times in a row.

And that's it. Seems far fetched but worth a try!

Add some Melatonin to your sleep.

People swear by Melatonin for improving sleep, sleeping disorders like insomnia and even jet lag. In this research paper, published in 2013 they gathered 19 studies together, a total of 1683 people and analysed the data. They concluded it "increases total sleep time and improves overall sleep quality."

Fight the urge to napping during the day.

Yes we all love our naps and it can be a good way to get some energy back but it makes are sleeping patens even worse. If you can hold of until bed time and reclaim your body clock, after a while you will find that you are able to sleep at night and go the whole day without even thinking about napping. It could take a maximum of 2 weeks but the outcome is beneficial. Researches suggest napping is also very bad for your health. It has been associated with a lot of diseases and can run the risk of increasing early death by a 3rd!
